Chasing the Blue Wing Olive Hatch in the Driftless Region

Blue Wing Olives are one of my favorite hatches of the year. When they hatch in the spring they are the only mayflies around and the fish seem to go crazy for them. However, the weather this time of the year rarely cooperates to produce thick hatches. Follow along as my dad and I spend 3 days chasing this hatch throughout the Driftless Region.

The Ahole in me wants to say i could catch these fish with a 30$ Zebco, splitshot, hook, and worm under a dollar bobber.. minus the 3k of gear they are wearing. But i won't. Just could never get that invested for the payoff. But everyone likes something different, so more power to you guys. Im also just a little pissed still from my vacation to Colorado, and while walking one of the most beautiful stretches of stream ive ever seen i picked up half a Meijer bag of fly fishing gear/trash from the river.

Great video, bud. I enjoyed that. I would love to make it to the Driftless at some point.
