where do you find your music for your projects

Did you work by the fly or storyboard out this demo reel? For all of it and also in particular the beginning how light and dark alternate. Did you make a lot of those smaller decisions on the fly? How do you come up with motion graphics ideas and even specific ways of animating and coming up with things? Do you just imagine it in your mind and then work to make it? Or do you create on the fly as it forms? If that makes sense.
