INSANE DPS Calcharo Resonator Guide | Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves (simplified Chinese: 鸣潮; traditional Chinese: 鳴潮; pinyin: Míng Cháo; lit. 'Sound Tide') is a free-to-play action role-playing game developed and published by Kuro Games. It was released on May 23, 2024. Being an open world gacha game, Wuthering Waves has been compared to other titles such as Genshin Impact, but aims to emphasize combat more than its predecessors.

Wuthering Waves is set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic world after a catastrophe called the Lament wiped out most of humanity and caused unknown beings and monsters to appear. However, humanity soon adapted to the threat and over time rebuilt civilization. The story follows the amnesiac Rover, who has awoken from a deep slumber and sets out to explore this new world. Wuthering Waves is set in an open world.[2] The player controls the protagonist, the Rover, as well as recruited units called Resonators, which are split into 4-star and 5-star rarities.[1] The endgame content features modes where characters can be used in a series of combat challenges.

Dude, I subbed for your non-gacha content back then. Glad to see you take interest in Wuthering Waves. Game is fun so far and will hopefully only get better.

But yeah, I prefer Calcharo over Jiyan. Jiyan is a cheat code. Calcharo has more kit complexity and more room for skill expression.

Hey man stumbled upon your channel as I was just spamming attacks with calcharo and didn’t know how to play him properly. I really like how you broke down the combos and explained everything in a basic way that was easy to follow. Perfect to help me get started with the character. All the other videos/websites I found always start with an assumption of knowledge I don’t have yet.

I hope you are going to make more guides like this for other characters. Your channel will be my first port of call for new characters going forward

I'm a F2P Calcharo main and I just recently pulled Jiyan 2 times, I got tempted and now I'm burning my tides and Astrites in his Event Weapon, whether or not I got lucky getting Jiyan's Signature Broadblade I ain't gonna be using anymore tides and Astrites in any events and characters that is to come, I'll be grinding my way to the game through and through with this masterpiece of a Orsted/Sepiroth

So, i got him from the free selector and Verina from the starter (though i prefer to use Baizhu). There's the choice banner and i don't know if going for a second copy of him would be worth. Other selection would be the monk, but nobody else really.
Yeah, weapon is probably smarter, but the banner is going to be there until it's used after all.

Few things i wanna point out. U could've shown the whole combo rotation in a full team to make it easier to understand. 4:24 the way u worded it made this rlly confusing. 8:40 u did 4hit combo into heavy *without mercy plunge* then 2hit into mercy and lastly another 4hit into *heavy without mercy* . Wouldn't it be better to do Two full 5hit *with mercy?* Pretty sure u didn't mention it but spamming his attack button in ult form will automatically trigger heavy into mercy once he has 5 stacks so no need to manually heavy attack unless u actually want an unenhanced heavy. Overall solid guide.

Calcharo's E does not cancel his autos, you can cast it and his autos simultaneously (it even states it at the skill info). you should always be using his E when available

Hate when so much is dependent on animation cancelling we shouldn’t need to cancel attacks for them to be effective

Does his ult uptime pause when swapped to make his enhanced intro skill somewhat useable?

im not sure, but i thought ultimate dmg barely effects him. he'd like normal atk dmg instead sine his ult just boosts his normal attacks

Wrong! Sub DPS Jianxin is better to boost Resonance Liberation to do max dmg with Calcharo. Plz read skill and do some calcul ;)

This is literally just wrong lol. You anicancel the 5th attack on his Resonance Liberation with his skill to get off an extra Death Messenger (special heavy attack). Normally you can only get 2 off, but animation canceling the 5th animation will get you that last one.
