Geometry on Khan Academy: We are surrounded by space. And that space contains lots of things. And these things have shapes. In geometry we are concerned with the nature of these shapes, how we define them, and what they teach us about the world at large--from math to architecture to biology to astronomy (and everything in between). Learning geometry is about more than just taking your medicine ("It's good for you!"), it's at the core of everything that exists--including you. Having said all that, some of the specific topics we'll cover include angles, intersecting lines, right triangles, perimeter, area, volume, circles, triangles, quadrilaterals, analytic geometry, and geometric constructions. Wow. That's a lot. To summarize: it's difficult to imagine any area of math that is more widely used than geometry.

About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

Thank you so much, I hate math and it makes me so unmotivated to pay attention to it. This made me understand it so much since I can never understand what my teacher says (he has an accent). Thanks so much, omg!

Great! Really polished my crap understanding of medians and centroids, and really triangles.

A big jump! 5:36 - The applicability of median rules of 2D triangles to 3D triangles here should be proven 1st before being used as done here.

Saying that this explanation is phenomenal is an understatement! 👌

Why is only the denominator square rooted? For instance, why is square root of a^2/9 = a^2/3? Shouldn't it = a/3? square rooting both numerator and denominator.

so does the orange points have a value of 2/3?

why do you square root a^2 over 9, b^2 over 9, and c^2 over 9?

So a segment of a median can be 1/2 or 1/3

when u went on about that triangle with extending lines i had no idea what u were talking about ppl don’t learn that before centroid so u shouldn’t b using advanced stuff with a basic problem

Feels a bit out dated that’s a ton of extra steps
