What actually happened in the final quest for Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Event - Genshin Impact

The reasoning behind Albedo and his other failed experiments in Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Event.

This event story should have been a story quest instead of limited time event. People who missed this event will miss out on a important part of Albedo lore... And probably be more confused unless mihoyo explains the whole story again in Albedo's 2nd story quest.

This feels more like an Archon quest than an event quest. Imagine how new players would react to this

My theory is Joel's father has died in the snow mountain, and the real Albedo defeated the fake one but didn't kill him, he just let the fake Albedo to be Joel's father. In this way Joel finally reunited with his father and the fake Albedo can live as a real human. It's a happy ending from anyone's view.

Y’know, before this scene, I thought I had figured it all out: Albedo pitied Subject Two and spared him, who, being a shapeshifter, replaced Joel’s father. Joel gets his father back, Subject Two finally get to be human, and Albedo gets to live. Happy ending for everyone.

Then this scene happened. Now I’m back to “I don’t trust anyone.”

Yeah albedo got replaced, this is too suspicious I cannot trust this dude anymore. The fact that he purposely showed that he can remove and add the mark if he wants to is just a terrifying idea because now we can't tell who is the real or fake one anymore.

when albedo first talked about the gardener being the only one to recognize who is authentic out of the three roses, i assumed he was talking about the traveler. if this is subject 2 instead of the real albedo, it would seem like he's mocking them for thinking the traveler would still be able to tell the difference after he showed his ability to make the star mark appear and disappear. this albedo is acting way too different from how real albedo acts, so i'm inclined to believe it is the imposter...

I think I noticed something.
Remember Albedo has a theme called Chalk pursues Gold.
Gold is like a creator and made countless life forms. The Albedo in the final part mentions that being a gardener doesn't sound bad, it must be a reference that this Albedo is going to make multiple clones of itself possibly to take down the traveller and the real Albedo. This Albedo will create multiple forms of life which is similar to what Gold did. hence, Chalk pursues Gold. Dainsleif also mentioned in albedo's miscellany that he will stop Albedo if he were to do something, this must be what dain meant. On the next Albedo quest, dain might make an appearance if that were to happen. The ludi harpastum might happen soon or later and that might be when Alice and varka come to monstadt. We might see albedo's story progression there as well. Since Alice is deeply connected to albedo

I have a weird feeling about Joel's father. No way that guy survived so many weeks/months on Dragonspine. Also when you speak to Joel after you finish the quest he gives you an adventurer's pocket watch (artifact) claiming it's a sign of good luck. But the artifacts description sounds like foreshadowing again ☠ I wouldn't be surprised if his father is actually a whopperflower

I admit the writing quality put in this story event is the same as the story writing from Honkai Impact. Please keep whoever wrote this story working for further stories in Genshin. It was better than all Archon quests and other quests combined.

What if: Joel's father is not actually a whopper flower, he really is the real deal, but mentioning being covered with blood makes me think that he was covered in Durin's blood by 2nd Subject in order to be resurrected, just like 2nd Subject was. The first time The 2nd could have been actually dragging the kid to the monsters to show him his father. Then the one which we meet in Monstadt was indeed the 2nd subject, talking about being a gardener, creating gardens and perfect plants and shit.

I just hope that the real Albedo is still good and in one piece. I dont think it's easy to checkmate the real Albedo, but still, i'm so worry now about his safeness.

Before this event i trusted all the character with all my heart because, "you're all so amazing and can do no harm, ily <3"

Now I'm like, "Listen, Albedo, ilysm but wtf you have given me so many trusts issues during this story quest."

I notice a change in Albedo's voice. The Albedo we know is real is very softspoken and speaks slower. But the Albedo at the end was la lot faster and sounded 'sharper'. Lumine's smirk could either mean that she knows he's not real, or that she knows she fell into his prank.
Also, the Albedo that was actually the whopperflowers voice had barely any emotion in it, or some resentment kind of tone. I must say, Khoi, you're absolutely amazing with voicing him.

I, for a moment thought that the Reckless Pallad can finally redeem his self but few seconds later I realized that Joel's father is probably fake. So yeah, still not gonna help him during his commissions lol
