THE WAY, WAY BACK is the funny and poignant coming of age story of 14-year-old Duncan's (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter, Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. One of my favorite movies of all time. Such an unnoticed classic. I cannot believe this is in a more “obscure” category and everyone hasn’t seen this. Did I mention how much I love this movie? Epic coming of age story. Watch it.

The part where Duncan goes “He called me a ‘3’. Who says that to somebody?” hit me so hard, because he’s totally right. Who TF has the audacity to say that to someone, let alone who they’re supposed to be a father figure towards?

"This looks like a perverted, depressing and sick movie."...Oh, trust me, it's not. I just saw it with my sister and her friend and we all loved it. My sister cried at the end and I felt so very happy and good in the closing minute. It's a GREAT movie! :-)

Saw this movie in theaters in 2013 and I really loved it. I still watch it from time to time and it never gets old. It’s fun but also emotional in parts. The cast is stacked too and everyone did a great job.
