I only just discovered this video, but what a lovely list of books! Love to see The Membranes and Strange Beasts of China here; I feel like they're such underrated gems that don't get recommended/mentioned enough. Forever will be on the hunt for more books like these </3

Oh, I didn't realize that The Membranes was so short! I've had my eye on that one, so maybe I'll pick it up sometime. I love, love, love short works! I have too many favorites, but one I think you'd like if you haven't read it already is Passing by Nella Larsen. It's a classic, has some really interesting social commentary, and has a bit of a suspense/thriller feel.

Thank you so much for your recommendations. I found out from you about a book from my own country. I never knew about the author. Sadlly Romania was not very kind to their minorities and even now is extremelly discriminating.
