Syracuse, Upstate New York drenched from fast-moving thunderstorms

SYRACUSE, NY – A brief but powerful burst of rain swept across Upstate New York late Monday morning and there’s more on the way.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms will continue rolling through the region for the rest of Monday. Eastern New York will experience the heaviest rainfall, with Albany seeing up to 1-2 inches from thunderstorms.

Strong winds and hail are also possible throughout the day, especially south of Syracuse and in the Finger Lakes region.

The showers activity will continue for the rest of Monday and into Tuesday. Temperatures on Tuesday will also be cooler than usual, reaching into only the 50s during the day.

On Wednesday, the rain is expected to clear, with intermittent clouds and temperatures in the 60s forecasted.
