I don’t need to tell you the name of the manufacturer as you will already know 😉
Hopefully I’ll get the video edited showing how many holes the JCB Diamond Tech hole saw ready for next week.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday 😉

They are good bits, I also use and like the Rubi bits and the bigger ones you can use on a angle grinder which is easier to hold. Great video.

We core drilled one of these recently (100mm) went through fairly easy. Although we used a few of the screwfix glass and tile bits for the pilot hole!

Using a 2 x 1 with the same size hole drilled in it works great for as an inexpensive jig, useful if you want to get the hole bang on.

What a timely video! I'll be working with new granite countertop here in the near future. Nice presentation. As for water, do you think having a helper stand by and steadily spray cold water from a spray bottle be an effective alternative to stopping and dipping?

just masking tape down a bit of cardboard or mdf with the a hole in it to start you out if your having a lot of trouble, its usually enough to get you going without ruining the surface

Wow, that cut through so quickly. I had a similar set as the 'Ebay' ones and it took me about 10 minutes to cut through a ceramic plate!!
Thanks for sharing :-)

I like to build a "dam" with putty and fill it with water so the tip is always submerged in water

Stopping every 5 seconds looks extremely tedious. If I was drilling more than one hole, I'd buy some silly puddy and use it to make a circular dam around the location of the hole. Fill the dam with water and drill away.

I had an old timer use that technique 30 years ago when I took an ornate bottle to the local hardware store to have a hole drilled in it. Side note: the bottle broke...not because of the dam but because bits for drilling in glass were junk back then.

May I ask why a rotary hammer wasn't used?

I have an old granite house that I will be starting to do up next summer. It looks like I will be doing something different when trying to set up a wooden frame to put up plaster board in some of the rooms. Drilling granite seems to be a bit of a nightmare. Sounds like I will be putting in a frame for my plaster board and attaching it to ceiling and floor and only drilling to support it in the mortar of the granite. Other wise it will take me for ever to drill the granite.

Do I have to use a hammer drill setting for drilling an anchor hole for 1 1/4" Quartz shower curb?

If I put the granite I'm drilling under water, in a basin say, can I just drill continuously?

Great informative video! How bad was the blow out on the back of the tile?

You could have put some water in a plastic bottle with a small hole in the bottle so you just continue to drill while the water pours out on to the bit in the drill

I'm a cabinet maker that does a bit of DIY. To get a clean hole I will sometimes put a sacrificial piece on the underside. I know the tile will go on a wall and the back lost for ever but how clean was the exit hole (Just curious)
