Warsaw Old Town now and after World War II (1944) destruction

During World War II Warsaw Old Town was completely destroyed by Nazi Germany. It’s hard to imagine that almost 80 years ago the streets and squares you enjoy looked so different. Indeed, it was a difficult 💪 task to rebuild 🔨 it!

It's really amazing to see 78 years old WWii war pictures and how they rebuild their country. Salute to them.

I went to Warsaw in the early nineties and i was overwhelmed how accurate the Poles reconstructed the old inner city, so much better then the germans did with their cities.

I never appreciated what my father went through living in Warsaw throughout WW2 and taking part in the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, now that he is gone I wish I had told him how proud I am of him.

Nie wiem co jest bardziej szokujące: fakt jak Warszawa wyglądała po zakończeniu wojny, czy to, że z populacji liczącej prawie 1, 3 miliona we wrześniu 39 zostało jedynie około 1000 osób w momencie wkroczenia armii czerwonej.
