This video has saved me several times, thank you sir, I need to get that cable fixed. i just loaned my 2007 truck to my daughter to move some items from her storage, I did not notice that the park break was slightly engaged so my truck would not go in reverse, drive etc… the break looked fine, I pressed the break and it stuck to the floor, I remembered your video and did your release and the truck was fine, my daughter was happy.

Very appreciated of this, just got an 03 silverado and had the parking brake light on my whole drive home, when I got home I put my foot down on the parking brake to test it, and it went all the way down, then I tried to release it and it wouldn't move. I work for a shop and we had a 2002 GMC Yukon XL come in for a brake line replacement, and we couldn’t work on it for a couple days, so I rolled it to a parking spot in the mean time when I went to release the brake I could do it by pushing down to the release like I can on my 2005 GMC Yukon so I looked for 10 minutes before I looked it up and it turned out I looked right over the lever to help release it. Been a tech for 7 years and I completely made my self look stupid. 😂

Works on 1999 GMC Sierra too! Did it with a finger in 2 seconds, couldn’t have been easier. Turns out there is a release toggle that’s been snapped off, you’re a saint!
