As an aromantic I 100% feel the “you just haven’t met the right person” thing. I tell my mom I’m not interested in dating and she keeps saying I’ll be over it when I’m older and that I just haven’t matured yet...I’ve been saying I don’t want to date or marry for years and I’m almost 20, I don’t think I’m changing. I love my mom and we have a great close relationship, but she just doesn’t understand. She says she’s worried I’ll be old and die alone and she wants me to have a partner and family of my own to be with. I mean, dying alone sounds awful, but that shouldn’t be a reason to get in a relationship, so I’ve already decided I’m going to be an old cat lady. Already have a bunch of cats anyways. Lol

When i am hit with the "you just haven't met the right person yet" i answer with "sure, but i wont be searching. i am content with what i have and if one day a person makes me want more, well, i will think about what to do if it happens"
that usually shuts them up amd they wont pressure me into dates and whatnot
