#Seiko 6105 & 6106 watches: How to remove the stem and crown

Stem removal on the Seiko 6105 movement (used in the Seiko 6105-8110 "Captain Willard" and 6105-8000 divers) in easy steps:

1. Do not pull the crown out. If your crown still locks (lucky you!), unlock it.
2. Use something with a fine point to push on the stem release dimple.
3. While pushing on the dimple (not too hard), gently pull the stem out.

To replace the stem, you don't need to push on the dimple again. Just push the crown and stem in slowly, rotating it a bit if it gets stuck.

Note this method also works on the Seiko 6106 movement.

My Seiko 6106C has the double push date change function. Does Willard operate by the same way?
