Welcome to this English lesson (It is a QUIZ / GAME English lesson!) about trademarks, brand names, and logos!

There are so many large companies in the world and the way we pronounce their names in English is sometimes different than how you would pronounce it in your own language.

In this English lesson I will QUIZ you on your knowledge of the different logos and trademarks that companies use, and I will tell you how I pronounce each of them when speaking English. I will first show you the logo and you can GUESS in the chat!

During the lesson you can ask questions using the link that will be provided, and I will do my best to help.

Hi Bob, I am so grateful that I have possibility to listen to your podcast and learn English. Bob, I have some questions to you, there are a few of them. I've been studying English for 5 years, but I can't speak English with fluency so far even though I do my best and study all day, 3 hours a day. Could you tell me what I need to attain my goal (Speaking English fluently)? How much important is English vocabulary and how many words does a person should know to speak English without hesitation ? Thanks in advance!

Hi Bob, how are you? I hope doing well. Almost all of this marks we have here in Brazil with pretty much the same pronounciation of North America. But we have a little difference. You recognize a Brazilian speaking English words like this: Insted MacDonalds, we pronouce like Mecky Donalds, insted Netflix we say Netty Flix, insted hotdog, hotty dogy and so on. Cheers.

In my language the rule is that foreign names, as well as brand names are pronounced the way they are pronounced in the original speech where they came from. In my opinion that's fair and right. I haven't seen it as a problem for any of the foreign commentators to say the name of an famous athlete from my country as we pronounce it. So it's possible. Sometimes I get the impression that English-speaking people are lazy to work on some foreign pronunciation and simply just pronounce it their way🙂
