Bobby Hull easily had the fastest shot of all time at 118 miles per hour. Like Gordie Howe he was more myth than a man. With a wooden stick yet! This list begins and ends with Bobby Hull.

What? No Bobby Hull? One of the great slapshots of all time. Maybe even the greatest.

Bernie Geoffrion was so fast I didn't even see it.

Bobby Hull has posted the fastest skating time ever measured, too, but you won't find it on any of these videos.

In a 1963 article of Hockey News the said Bobby Hull's slapshot was 125 mph, and Frank Mahvolich' slapshot was 127 mph, yet the don't make the list. Bobby Hull's wrist shot was 105 mph, his snapshot was 100 mph, and his back hand shot was 90 mph, which was harder than Jean Beliveau's slap shot.

I'm a leafs fan. This was also a great video. But who in the history of the world would not put the legend, Bobby Hull on this list.

Wood stick or not, Bobby Hull had the hardest slapshot in the history of the NHL, and brother Dennis wasn't far behind. I once saw one of Dennis Hull's slappers break the plexiglass behind the Hawks net during warm-ups. Tony Esposito hadn't yet come out and taken his place in net, so Dennis leaned into one and shattered the glass. Bobby Hull was one of the strongest men ever to lack up skates, and his slapshot was radar-verified at 118 mph. The skeptics say that the equipment back then wasn't accurate-enough to measure his shot, but that's nonsense. Very sensitive and accurate radar was available at that time - and Hull's 118 mph mark should be regarded as the top one of all time. Son Brett has a nasty slapshot, too - as evidenced by his career scoring marks and legendary one-timer, which he got off quickly, accurately and hard.

No Hull? in 1974 Canada Cup the Russians said it took them a few games to get use to how fast he shot the puck. They heard about Hull and seen him play but had never played in a game where a puck was shot as fast he shot it. And with a wooden stick no less.

One more thing about Hull on bad knees at the tail end of his career he scored 6 goals in four games against the Russians. His shot was so powerful he invented the necessity of a goalies mask.

Bobby Hull isn't just 1st....he's 1st by a country mile. The fact he doesn't make this top 10 list is a joke.
