'The Other Lisbon Story' - TEASER

“The Other Lisbon Story”
“Lisbon Story”, in this film Wim Wenders pays tribute to Federico Fellini where he shows the city of Lisbon as the perfect postcard. Oppositely to the reality shown in the film "Lisbon Story" our film "The Other Lisbon Story" will try, in a symbolic way, to point out the actual following rapid and frightening gentrification events in which the city of Lisbon is going through.
The mass intensification of tourism in Lisbon has implied a significant change to the quotidian lives of its own town inhabitants. Many residents in historical Lisbon neighborhoods are no longer able to cope with the sudden rise of the property rent. And as a result they have been forced to move out from the town center onto the suburban areas.
At the moment Lisbon is experiencing an international touristic peak with revenues that significantly will contribute greatly to the country's economy, but with the absence of a non-apparent strategic plan could bring negative consequences in future.
Also apart from the film "The Other Lisbon Story", we have created three other short videos where we included interviews made to some witnesses that we approached and coming into contact with on the street. With the intuition to discover the old and present identity of Lisbon. The objective is based in a provocative and funny way to confront an audience with questions and answers that would explore the truly today essence of Lisbon's character.
We were also proud to work with the renowned actress Joana Ribeiro, who debuted this year at the Cannes Film Festival with Terry Gilliams's "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote."
The song that is used in the movie, "Desassossego", was kindly donated by the renowned Portuguese musical band "Dead Combo". A duo that in the last decade has become essential to the Portuguese scene.
