The engineer actually in fact perfected his techniques with playing with stretch marks. Fun fact ❤

The most satisfying construction channel I’ve ever seen! Does everything absolutely perfect I love it and it’s all different it’s never the same video over and over

Glad I saw you use the roller. Sometimes it’s “forgotten.”

We have to cut away house wrap down to sheathing..3 inches from opening..bare plywood. Then andersen silicone on bare plywood..window goes in . Then it's sticky 5 inch tape over window flanges and done..this is on the ocean in new England. Andersen won't guarantee window unless we follow their instructions. No problems yet. Almost 10 years now

It’s hard to keep water out these days with the window design and negative pressure in the house. We add clapboard for a little pitch and a rain screen out to the drainage plane. Nothing worse than seeing a leak after all that hard work.

I want to see that stretch tape after a while of it sitting there, a lot of products that stretch eventually give up and retract making it so those corners aren't sealed, im sure it works or you wouldnt use it but id have to see it before i used it.

Whoever made that tape is sitting at home relaxing

Oversized your frame drop a piece or beveled siding, now any water has positive flow out, current example could just move the water problem in further

Is this method the same as the one displayed in the video before? Just a preference of using tape versus liquid? Great video!

I use zip tape to hold together insulating sleeves for my beehives. Sturdy stuff even exposed to direct outdoors 8mo/yr

As a trim carpenter, this process is why the inside jamb is not flush with the drywall on the bottom of most of the windows .

That liquid stuff seems way easier to apply and get right. Looks like it is one piece once it sets.

That was smart what you did with "roll the tape" at the end there!!!!

@w.k.d.constructionllc Great video. Question. In the video before, you used liquid flash and on this one you’re using tape. Is the option for flashing one or the other? Do people use both? Which is the better option. Very new to DIY-ing and home repairs and trying to learn as much as I can

Nice… always hated putting blue skin on these when they came out… took them like over twenty years to reengineer it so it’s thinner and serves the purpose… 😂😂❤

Hell yea zip system is the shit, makes me nervous here in pacific northwest rainforest zone but man what a clean product. Acrylic tape for the win buddy clean clean clean and I know you got that positive slope on the sill.
