I instruct with a guy who worked for Miller - had to come off so he could be home with the little ones . Said he loves Miller but he wasn’t hauling livestock. Really bragged about the equipment and treatment from the company. I’m sorry to hear this - and mad as hell.

it's bad out there.
Brokers don't want to pay.. greedy assholes..
trying to get you to run for 2 to 2.40 a mile while fuel is 5 bucks a gallon... and not counting maintenance

and when you tell them it's low they hang up on ur ass

It's a sad story and I'm sure fuel prices had a part and freight rate isn't getting better anytime soon and the broker shouldn't make any more than 10 percent 15 at best

It’s just the start. All of these guys that financed these over priced used trucks and trailers are F’d. My truck is paid for and I parked it after my 1st $2500+ fuel cost week. Fuel+ tires + maintenance + repairs + parts shortage + increases law enforcement harassment + inflation= Disaster especially when rates are the same and trending downward. I can make $2500+ driving someone else’s truck, you veterans better get to doing something now that has traditionally been recession proof or you’re F’d, and do it now not when it’s too late.

Livestock hauling has its own challenges. Livestock has to be exercised and watered every 48 hours or so and typically will require a team to run. Add to this massive deadhead miles and rising fuel makes the whole thing a loosing proposition. Cattlemen, ranchers, and farmers are notoriously cheap and likely unwilling to double the rates from just a few years ago. Expect demand to exceed supply in the meat section of your local supermarket.

sad news! L.W. Miller is a good company.

Respect to the big co-op, I’m feeling the pain as a single owner op, I wondered if anyone else was feeling it . Brokers are playing games and don’t want to even meet in the middle on negotiating. It’s time to kick out the middle man, that’s what’s holding me personally back .

Just wanted to say that we are seeing a bunch of LW Miller equipment in the Prime Inc yard in Springfield, MO and we are primarily refrigerated. So, is LW selling off their reefer business as well??

Coming from a life around grain hauling. I ways seen how people's wants and other items are paying more money than your food source.and the price of grain ain't went up much since my great grandfather drove in the 70s
