I started coding after a divorce and being an empty nester because I was 50 and absolutely could not work for minimum wages and make it lol. I got my first job with a billing company and then got hired to work at a military hospital as a contractor. I attended a meeting and was the only one there that could tell why a physician was not making money (codes were incorrect). They changed my job and promoted me to be the Auditor/Trainer. I went from one level to top paying. I also work 20 hours part time for another company . Then I took the CPC-I course and exam, passed and became an instructor. I started my own business, as a consultant and trainer. I am 67 and work remote, own my own business, contract code/audit when ever I want too. I teach at a community college, Coding & Billing, whenever I want to pick up the work. There are so many ways to go with this!- Have worked everyday in the pandemic.

I am so glad you made this post. I was feeling discouraged because like you I originally went to school to be in the medical field. I got my associates degree to be a "Medical Secretary" back in the early 80's, went into the Army, came out and never worked the field again. Now I'm back in school at 60 to be a medical coder. I'm an honor student and I pray every day that when I am done I'll have the money to take that test and continue on my journey. Again thank you for this video.

We started our career at the same time. 1. The Language of Medical Coding is the same language all around the World. 2. Medical Coding provides the CDC with tons and tons of information about certain diagnosis in different parts of the world. Keep up the great work CodeMaster Coach ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You just saved my life! I love you! I have a certificate in medical coding. The community college said ICD-10 didn’t matter ! But, in the next year, and it was implemented. I never got my certification. So I’m enrolled full-time as a single mother, basically a widow, at the age of 46 years old ! Here I am thinking I need to get a bachelors degree! I am in debt with student loans and health information management has no scientific courses! It had medical Terminology, and medical coding for non-coders! Can you believe I didn’t pass twice? I am fed up, and I need to finish this semester that requires me to take courses and submit essays. I never knew there was a science of money. I thought that was accounting! I just want to be a medical coder and I’ve wanted to be one for a long time. Your video has help me and you are subscribe subscribe to you and I will always listen to you. I NEED TO BE NEEDED! Your video is the MOST IMPORTANT VIDEO I HAVE SEEN EVER!!!

I went to school for coding in 2017 & have been working as a CPC right after I finished the program. I love it, but I’m also in school doing my pre-med and only have a few classes left. I love the fact that I am learning the business side and get to stay updated with all new information. I feel that it’ll all be beneficial when I become a physician as I plan to open my own practice. I feel like it’ll be a great thing to have those credentials with me and with coding there’s so many! 🙂

I graduate in the medical billing and coding the end of August. I love knowing the medical terminology and disease process. Then watching the medical shows and understand what’s going on. It’s kinda like a super power in a way.

Thank you for your words. I am in the second half of my life 51. I have been a paramedic for 23 years. I am very interested and just started my schooling for becoming a biller/coder. I love to research, and I love healthcare. I am, however, so nervous. I hope I can be as successful. But thank you for your words again they are encouraging.

I wish I had found your videos and a few others like it 6 years ago! I took a course that did not have a step by step plan and was so lost, I finished it but never felt like I knew what I needed. I have been contemplating taking the AAPC course which came highly recommended to me by a friend in the profession, she’s an auditor now, and your 8 advantages have really gave me some good for thought. Thank you!
