Charles Barkley Wants SQUASH Beef With Michael Jordan..

Welcome back to Sports Splash. The NBA Hall of Famers were close friends for years, but their relationship soured over a decade ago when Barkley criticized Jordan's management of the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte finished with a 34-48 record in its first full season with Jordan as majority owner. Barkley has defended his stance ever since and hasn't spoken with Jordan in 10 years. However, he said earlier this week that he hopes they can make amends.

Barkley reveals why he hasn't spoken to MJ in 10 years and originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago. Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan used to be best friends and fierce NBA rivals. But now, to hear Barkley tell it in a recent interview with Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks, he and the Chicago Bulls legend have not spoken in 10 years after Jordan took exception to a piece of criticism Barkley levied on television.

Michael Jordan is not a good friend to Charles Barkley. I have seen interviews where Michael talks about Charles's golf swing, his defense, his diet and eating habit, his weight, lack of championships, etc. Charles just laughs it off or ignores it. Yet when Barley talks about what Jordan needs to do about his abysmal NBA franchise he gets offended and holds a grudge for over 10 years. Charles even goes on air and says that he regrets losing his friendship. Basically apologizing on air. Charles does not need Michael as a friend. He better off just writing that petty dude off.

Well Charles Barkley wasn't telling a lie at all. Should it have been kept to himself? Possibly, but I think that it was more of a hit to Jordan's ego if anything. Especially with how competitive Mike is. Mike can hold a grudge so it definitely doesn't surprise me that this has gone for this long.

IMO, life is just too short to hold grudges over petty. Gotta wonder with Chuck trying to work the friendship out if Jordan was really a true friend at all. How will Jordan feel if Charles were to just suddenly pass away. Knock on wood because I don't wish death on anyone, but life is just way too short.

Congratulations, Charles. Telling Michael to 'get over it' was the best gasoline possible to throw on the fire. He'll get over it when Charlotte wins a world championship and thereby proves you were wrong about him as a team owner. If they never do, then the beef will remain forever. Get over it.

That’s the issue right there. Jordans ego isn’t a good fit for Charles’s personality. Charles is unapologetic and brutally honest. It’s pretty obvious that Jordan no longer values Charles’s friendship that much. The aggravation isn’t worth it for him, he’s done.

I already knew all the information provided in this video and had seen multiple interviews. My first thought is that things have changed… Charles Barkley is a new grandparent and his focus has changed. As Charles told Ernie Johnson and Kenny The Jet) Smith, they were right! He’s surrounded by a loving family, great friends (on the show) and a job he’s knows is a blessing…already planning his retirement. Charles is a lot less focused on his failed friendship with Michael Jordan now. He only mentions it when he’s asked. Good for him!

First, do we really know if they were best friends? We have heard Charles say it; but never heard MJ say this. Sometimes people are delusional.

Just felt like throwing those thoughts, out there. But honestly, we only know one side of the story, Charles's side. The private conversation could have gone a different direction.

Now, ten years seem to be a long time. If, they were truly "Best Friends". They don't even say hi' when in the same room. It sounds like there was a deeper problem. I will finish with this: How many relationships have we been in or around, whether it's intimate or platonic same-sex friendships. You knew the person for years. The 2 of you had plenty of disagreements. until one day. One of you decides you had enough. Believe it or not, this happens a lot. You simply outgrow each other, in this case, it seems like MJ has outgrown this friendship.
