Em is greater than Ek, then isn't it absorption?? (Because Em is the state after perturbation and Ek is the state before perturbation)

If I build C2(t) mod squared in 55:50 in the equation for absorption I end up with a nice oscillating cos(t0(w21-w)) but cannot get rid of a Joule term squared because of h cross!
Can anybody help me, please? Thanks in advance! (The same unity problem would arise in emission..)

WHAT A SHAME THAT USING POTENTIALS TO DESCRIBE INTERACTIONS IS PRETTY OLD-FASHIONED.
THE STANDARD MODEL TELLS YOU THERE ARE GAUGE BOSONS MEDIATING THESE INTERACTIONS.
