My parents took their honeymoon here in October '65. Nine months later I showed up, lol.
I do have the scrapbook from then. It has some tix stubs, post cards and black and white photos in it. Good stuff.👍

I was there. My father worked for the Port Authority. It was glorious back then.

I went to Montreal Expo '67 when I was a kid but now World's Fairs are unimaginable, I'll bet the Olympics will be the next to go.

I was born in Queens in 1964. Looking at the these photos the future was bright, not gloom and doom we're exposed to in 2023.

I was there with my huge family, but was only 4 years old.

The architecture was amazing. It’s a shame that nearly every building was built to be only temporary. Could you imagine everything still in its place today?

I was there, aged16, my granddad took me. I dont remember much as these photos, but there was a replica of the 1830 steam engine Tom Thumb, and a new GM GP35 diesel locomotive. I remember that being a train nut.

Seems like a lot of work for just two years.

There's something very similar going on now by Flushing Bay...
It's called LaGuardia Airport...
All kinds of new and different buildings and ramps built or being built by the Grand Central Parkway...😏

now that the video is done and I'm thinking about those white bubble lookin things, I'm imagining the michelin man strollin thru pluckin fruit off of them.
was the world invited to participate, or was it the planners intention to represent the world?.. 💡!! Maybe it was a demonstration of technology's influence on the world?!
The thumbnail's staring me in the face, bringing clarity to my thinking that the fair wasn't in Florida as the water and seals and water skiing alluded to.. 😏🙂
on behalf of all your subscribers
Thanks for surprising us and adding some spice to our day..😎

Can you imagine having to dress up like that to go to a park? All of those women walking around in heels. I was 11 years old in 1964. Things were not that great especially if you were a black person. Stop romanticizing the past it's 1, 000, 000 times better now.
