In the past, the use of biofuels was usually driven by a lack of petrochemicals. But now that environmental impact is a top issue for airlines and regulators, more wide-spread use is likely to take place in the coming years. A major reason why crude oil is so cheap is because of government subsidies. It will blow your mind to see how much of the world’s GDP is used to subsidize oil. If those subsidies were moved from oil to biofuel, oil wouldn’t be looking to good for aviation giants.

What I am missing in this Film is the fact, that the greenhouse effect of Gases emited in the heights airplanes fly in, is 2-5 times greater than on the ground. Therefore, biofuels can and will reduce the impact of Planes, but it can not be a statisfing solution. The sad truth is, the only was, to lower the impact of the aviation industry is to keep the number of flights as low as posible, until localy emmision free planes are feasable. I think thats very important and should have been included in the film.
Bio fuels can not save the aviation industry.

There are many Startups trying to improve upon this. Biofuel is not the answer in the near, short, or long term future.

Save airlines, shorten food supply or at least seriously increase the price of basic food supply in the world. Not to mention the environmental impact of needing a lot more farming ground, which means, more forests destroyed around the world.

We're trying to REDUCE CO2 not slightly change the source of them. Biofuel does nothing to decrease CO2
