Great variation. Have used it the past 6 weeks and hit my first 315lb paused bench a few days ago! It may not look much different than normal pause benching, but pausing an inch off of your chest makes it quite a bit harder. I recommend it.

This was a very interesting video. Literally every person I know at my gym, with a well-developed chest, uses the method of stopping and inch or so above the chest when pressing.

i have 1 noob question, elite powerlifters get the title from 1500 totals if im right is that for every weight class or it may change depens on the weight of powerlifter ?

I don't see it necessary to touch you chest for your working sets, if you controlling decline, and not leaving 5 feet in between chest and bar. For me touching my chest makes my form break down, and on heavy sets its causes me to crumble, and fucks up my shoulder
