Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my thoughts on The Rainbow Science curriculum by Beginnings Publishing. The Rainbow Science is a two year curriculum covering physics, chemistry and biology

EDITED: This course can be used as a Jr. High course or can be taken for two High School credits. You can receive one credit for Physical Science (Yr 1) and one credit for Biology (Yr 2).

Last year we completed year one with physics and chemistry, and this year we’re going through biology.

Thank you for the thorough review. I noticed for high school they have the spectrum chemistry. The $312 price tag is a bit steep but looks like a great curriculum and possibly more fun than the apologia chemistry.

I'm late in the game watching your video but do you know if there is a comparable program for younger kids, ages 3rd/4th?

Thanks so much for this detailed review! I was originally trying to find video based science curriculum for my middle schooler (such as BJU), but now highly considering Rainbow science. The way they describe their philosophy is that they present science as an integrated whole (hence the specific order from physics to chemistry and then to biology) - have you found this perspective something that made a difference for your child? It seems this is what they say what makes them different from other science curriculums - and I'm curious how students have benefitted from this (or not). I"m also curious if you think this is rigorous enough - I've seen some other comments about this being not meaty enough, what's your take? I like how it doesn't take too much time and that the text is a conversational I wonder if it is enough preparation for high school science. Thanks!

If I do this program starting in 8th grade for my daughter can she get a high school credit for it in 9th since it’s a two year program?

Can you use this curriculum together? I have an advanced 3rd grader and a 7th grader. What would you think would be best for combining science with them. We've used Abeka in the past, but then I was doing science with each of them.
