I know he is a respectable statesman, but he is off the mark with regards to India vs China. The issues between US and China are existent without bringing India in between. India has grown in its own right and is a democratic modern entity.Countries around the world offer all sorts of military hardware to India. It's not that US. is handing military hardware to some second rung country. India will buy its millitary needs from Russia, France, Israel, Sweden e.tc or develop own its own if US hesitates. US. has started treating democratic India as an ally in the world , relations of both countries with China notwithstanding is meant to be carried for very long term future, not for some short term tactics.
