I agree with the thought that change is possible without insight. Transformation isn't. As Michael says, change is reversible (you go back immediately to the old habits and thinking patterns), but transformation is not. You can't unlearn something you have learned and accepted as a truth for you (insight). Change is not sustainable without effort in the lack of insight.

Want to share an experience
Suffering led me to Spiritual path I applied effort n willpower which helped get ball rolling then developed self awareness n Understanding which became effortless stopped searching trusted in process of awarness and Understanding (some fear in case doing nothing I would go backwards)
Awarness did the work not willpower now it's like I have become the change no need to try be something IME not BUT being my true nature is unselfconsiesse but can be seen on reflection
Awarness dropped the bullsxxx and as programming dropped true nature was revealed which is ongoing
What I trying to say is true nature is effortless n unselfconsiesse
The moment you become aware you are happy kind loving present it becomes something else
I found trusting in process of awarness and Understanding was enough
