California took a very strong measure vs. Florida which did not take a strong measure. After 10 months the impact was very similar for both states. There will be a great deal of research on this topic and what is the best way to overcome the global pandemic. Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing.

I think this is a take that could have been better. Australia is opting for zero COVID until vaccines come out because for now, a singular case can threaten to overrun the hospitals like what we've seen in Europe and Canada. It'll be like this until mass vaccination effort will provide the herd immunity that is needed to get out of the pandemic, and finally Australia gradually open the borders.

No country's international travel market will be the same again. Likely there will be COVID passports. I mean, think of measles. The US is technically living with it along with Canada

Commenting from near end of May, this video proved to be a great analysis.

Singapore and Taiwan have recently faced a (relative) surge of cases, considering they both come from very low number community cases for several months, but now you can tell that because of this, there is a certain amount of anxiety in both countries, but especially Taiwan, in which the spike is much more pronounced.

The issue of very strict restrictions is that it raises expectations of the people inside the country that the government will need to keep maintaining or increase its restrictions as long as it needs to be. However, governments have a multitude of problems to look at, not just purely individual health. The health of the healthcare, economic, government funding and many other areas matter a lot too.

Unfortunately, I think there are a number of countries whose governments initially thought that COVID-19 would be like SARS, which it was initially compared closely with, and would disappear in a few months as well. That explains the severe restrictions hurting economies substantially. However, given that more and more data are suggesting that COVID-19 will be more of a marathon rather than a sprint, governments will need to adjust their policies to one more of embracing a post-COVID world, rather than short-term 'painful' measures.

Because even if you spend all your energy in the first 10km outrunning other people, you will likely be slower than other people for the remaining 32km, or even drop out. That would be unimaginable.
