What a cinematic masterpiece Nolan has made...
Even if you watch it 100th time, you will never get bored.

After Rachel's death Bruce realized he can't escape from Batman. At that point he didn't have any reason to stop being Batman once she died, and with her it also died his last hope of being that innocent boy he was before his parent's death.

0:17 and 0:36 are quintessential Batman and Joker cinematography. Both characters presented perfectly in mere seconds through beautiful imagery

0:35 is the best shot in the film history for me

At shot at 0:36 has become very iconic but I only recently realized what it is. I though Batman was looking down in defeat but now I realized he’s looking down at what remains of Rachel’s burned body. The fact that he is holding the coin seems to verify this. The only other alternative is that her body was there and was already removed and he staring at where it was found. Ultimately though the same point is true. He feels like he failed.

God that shot of him standing over the place where Rachel died is so badass

The way Bruce called Alfred in 1:42 it’s so sad you can really see how much he loved Rachel and she was his only hope for living a normal life even after TDK he was still grieving and feeling guilty for not saving her even after 8 years he still didn’t move on to see how much relatable and realistic is Bruce’s bale

1:18 the acting is just so good, that eye raise at the end. "goddamn Rachel you're about to break this man but ok" then at 2:29 the poker face to hide the pain he felt for Bruce

"You crossed the line first, sir. You hammered and squeezed them to the point of desperation. In their desperation, they turned to a man they didn't fully understand"
"You spat in the faces of Gotham's criminals. Did you not think there would be any repercussions?"
I love the parallel between those quotes.

Basically, she didn’t go for Bruce because she realized, while he would never let Batman go, he was never gonna be the man she wanted him to be

Harvey's silenced scream when he realised about Rachel is chilling and scary if you just even imagine with your own mind what kind of scream he could have gave.

I like how the same theme from Bruce’s childhood in Batman Begins started playing again

Broke my heart because this is why Alfred feared for him. There was no Bruce Wayne. Only Batman. Then he rose out of the lazarus pit and his true identity came back.

My favorite frame of any film ever is batman standing in the buildings rubble with his cape slowly blowing in the wind with that blue tint. Just the best thing I've ever laid my eyes on in any film.

This scene was deep how Alfred was going to let him read the letter then took it away only just in time. 1:36 is such a good shot of how Bruce feels especially the diversity of the mask off and suit still on

“What if I told you she wrote you a letter, saying she chose Harvey Dent over you. And to spare your pain… I burnt that letter

She couldn’t even give Bruce a year of being Batman until leaving him for her boss.

Rachel is for the streets
