Nice, intense. Are you guys 1121's, I was an Engineer an 1141, cross trained as an 1121, OJTed in several MOS's. during my time. MY primary utilities MOS was 1141. Lineman, electrician.
We Trained out of an area known as Courthouse bay at Lejeune. If that still exists. Initially, I was assigned to a utilities platoon. 8th engineers BN Camp Lejeune main side. Then sent to MCAS Beaufort S.C. VMFA 332. OJT, I and several others who graduated from Marine Corps engineers school were cross trained as avionics technicians when the Marine Corps had acquired the first AH8's VTOL Harrier Jets. Then off to the original Shit hole, Viet Nam. But thats another story. I was also trained as a WSI ( That was intense training ) and taught drown proofing at Parris Island for a short time.
The best part about our MOS's. They all translate very well into civilian life. Depending on which MOS you have acquired in the Corps and in the utilities field. As an electrician/ Lineman, I make more money, NO Bullshit, then some guys with college degrees and for me. It all started at Marine Corps Engineers School, Courthouse Bay, Camp LeJeune 1969.
God Bless the Corps and Chesty Puller, wherever you are. Oh yeah and they called us POG's LOL ( Person other than a grunt )
