Persephone - Goddess of the Underworld

Goddess of the Underworld, Persephone also embodies the return of vegetation in the spring. Abducted by Hades, she returns to Earth every year for eight months.
No one who has tasted the food of the dead can escape the ruler of limbo, so she must spend four months with the god of the Underworld in the underground kingdom.

This is my musical tribute to one of the main Chthonic deities, daughter of Zeus and Demeter, also known as Kore or Kora, and whom the Romans call Proserpine.

I can't believe you managed to capture the essence of spring and darkness all at once. The duality never ceases to amaze. The Goddess of both Life and the Dead. The one who brings harvest and warmth. And our Queen when we die. Persephone.

She reminds us all of the once innocent and youthful selves and how we were taken from our youth to become adults in such a dark world and must always remember to leave that underworld and come back to family and friends if we are to live happy lives

It shows her sweet innocence but also the darkness of the underworld. It almost feels like a song for a missing person. And in a way it is. Demeter searched everywhere for her. Finding her only when Hekate helped her go to the Underworld.

As always, I'm absolutely blown away! I especially adored the softness and almost pensive stateliness that remains present throughout this work. It speaks so powerfully of a young girl with gentle eyes and a somber and curious mind, who transitions from carefree childhood and into the dark unknown of the underworld, yet meets it without fear, hurling herself into the Hadean abyss, only to discover it is a featherbed underlaid with wisdom, tranquility and love.
