With remote probes, you can monitor different subnetworks that are separated from your PRTG core server system by a firewall to keep an eye on remote locations. You can install one or more remote probes.

Remote probes are also useful if you want to distribute monitoring load by taking it from the PRTG core server system and putting it on one or more remote probe systems.

Regarding connection of your Remote Probe to PRTG Hosted Monitor - please note that you may need to enable access to port 23560 on your system if it doesn't allow it by default. This will then provide the probe access to PRTG Hosted Monitor as normal

Do I need to forward port 23560 on the remote site (Different Public IP address) or just a local site where the main PRTG server is installed?
