Our hospital's ED is right in between the cafeteria and the wards, and everyone had to go through there as a shortcut. It's a perfect place for us to ambush unsuspecting consultants for a consult.

This is gold. I was in the ER with the doc trying to relocate my patella for 5 minutes. By miracle, an orthopedic surgeon wasn't being sneaky enough when he walked past, and relocated it within seconds after being called over to help.

Can't tell if that second ER doc is a separate ER doc or a rare combination Peds ER doc. It is now stuck in the ponder engine for the next several hours providing much enjoyment and chuckles.

Our hospital is decently small and emerg is legit just a smaller room for triage/waiting and a larger room with curtain dividers, and only two separate rooms (casting/private) so there is *nowhere to hide*

Then again, emerg is sealed off from the rest of the hospital, so a consult must be truly lost if they wandered into emerge, and that's how they sealed their own fate
