William has joined the gang of Lyoko warriors. He can’t wait to go into his first combat to take on XANA and the virtual monsters! The others try to curb his enthusiasm: XANA is a far more dangerous adversary that William can imagine. At that, each of them returns to manage their academic demands. But quickly XANA goes on an attack to wipe out Lyoko once and for all. For one reason or another, Jeremy, Odd, Ulrich and Yumi all find themselves unable to leave Kadic Academy. Only William and Aelita are able to go to Lyoko to fight against XANA, and so they do. But once William arrives in Sector 5, he lets his bravado get the better of him and ignores Aelita’s advice. As a result, the pair is separated and XANA is able to take possession of the boy. When Yumi, Ulrich and Odd finally make their way to Sector 5, they find themselves pitted against William who has become the super-powerful general of XANA’s army. They must fight against him to spare the Heart of Lyoko from certain destruction… can they do it before it’s too late?

My dude is literally Anakin Skywalker. Joins the fight on Lyoko and gets converted to the dark side on episode 66.
Episode 66.

You know. I think the series would have been better if if William turned evil more slowly.

Like that jellyfish thing basically planting an evil seed which changes him overtime rather than immediately

To me it would have probably put more wait to him as a villain/hero

Oh William...
Such a wasted opportunity for him to be a part of the group.

I don’t know why people think it was a bad idea for him to join the group. It wasn’t his fault at that time. If they had waited a bit for the others to join then I guarantee he never would have turned evil. Also in this mission you could William showed potential he was able to take out multiple creepers at once and when he turned evil, he overwhelmed the entire group. He had a lot of talent as a Lyoko warrior it was just that under certain circumstances had things happened to him.

I kind is wished William turned back to their side before the final battle. It would’ve been cool seeing him get payback on Xana for controlling him. I know he served as the muscle for Xana, but I could’ve bought Xana copying his body like he does in Evoloutions.

Funny, if anyone else had been on Lyoko with William and Aelita, they probably could have prevented the xanification because someone would have had to stay near the new guy. If Jeremie had waited just a little longer to let the other warriors work with william xana would have probably had a hell of a time xanifying him. But hey, we got some truly baddass scenes because of this.

As someone pointed it out to me, William is the only one of the Lyoko Warriors who managed to land on his feet on his first time being virtualized. Don't believe me?
- Aelita was shown to have landed on her butt when virtualized with her father in her self- titled episode.
- Odd, Ulrich and Yumi all landed the same way when virtualized in the prequel X.A.N.A. Awakens.
- Jeremie collapsed on the ground when virtualized in the simulation bubble by Aelita in Ghost Channel.
Shows that William actually had some potential.

“I knew it was a bad idea bringing you into the group” joining the group isn’t the problem. Not like it’s his fault getting possessed lol

Guess William is a big fan of anime characters with giant swords.

I've always wondered whether XANA intentionally had Creepers sacrifice themselves to William in order to give him a false sense of confidence before taking over his body. Creepers typically hid around corners throughout the show, so it was unusual for them to be standing around in the open. If I'm correct, then XANA had planned to possess William from either the moment he was scanned or possibly before that point. Very cunning.

i like how william has the powers that "Franz Hopper" give to ulrich in episode 49

If Yumi had voted yes in episode 59 William would've maybe had more experience and knowledge of Xana and at least two sectors to fuck up, instead of bringing him in during crunch time when sector 5 was all that was left...I blame Yumi

They should do a what if video of William of what if William didn’t get possessed by X.A.N.A. ?

Looking back at this and reading comments, this season should’ve been longer and William’s turn would’ve worked better if he was recruited sooner. Here’s how I would recreate S3 and the finale:

1. Add five more episodes to this season

2. Swap the episodes Temporarily Insanity or Sabotage with Double Trouble because William becomes aware of the Lyoko Warriors halfway into S3 (The Secret) and it would make sense to recruit him the next episode or the following episode.

3. After Double Trouble, the rest of the season would follow this format:

- New Episode #1: Lyoko Plus One. Taking place right after Double Trouble, this episode will follow the scene from the OG Final Round episode when William is entering the scanners. Then, it goes into the next day with a lot of students noticing William hanging out with Jeremy and the others. X.A.N.A. launches an attack by accessing nuclear codes to nuclear missiles and targeting the supercomputer. Jeremy and the others are racing against time as XANA possesses the students and staff again through emergency calls as she lures them to the supercomputer intentionally. When they fight on Lyoko, William acts as brash but show strength and rawness. XANA takes notice of this on Lyoko, stops the the missile, and ALLOWS Jeremy to return to the past. After this, the group talks about William’s performance and X.A.N.A.’s change of heart.

- New Episode #2: Following Command. This episode takes place after Lyoko Plus One and focuses on William’s relationship with Jeremy and Aelita. It’ll have the same events as the OG Final Round episode except the scyphozoa and the team’s situations. There is build up tension between William, Aelita, and Jeremy being leader (Which foreshadow’s William’s command in S4). Ulrich would be held up with his studies and being overseen by Sissi from Jim’s request. Yumi would be at a Spa, getting relaxation from school and Lyoko (So she’ll be the first one out early). Odd would be at a different skating tournament right by the school. Since this won’t be William’s first time in Lyoko, there’ll be a focus on William’s eagerness. The Scyphozoa’s attempt to take control of William would be longer until Aelita comes and stops the Scyphozoa. The rest of the episode will play the same as the original but without Xanafied William. In the end, All three argue with each other due to their individual choices until they come to an understanding. They don’t lose the sector until Final Round.

- New Episode #3: Crossroads. Taking place after the episode Nobody in particular, It’ll focus on William’s relationship with Ulrich as rival Lyoko Warriors and Yumi’s affection. Taking place a week and a half, Xana launches an attack during Kadic Academy’s anniversary to test William and the group’s dynamic. Odd and Yumi are occupied w/ the attack in the real world, which leaves Jeremy, Aelita, Ulrich, & William to deactivate the tower. Xana attempts to possess William again on Lyoko by sending the Scyphozoa but is given a choice to either possess William or Aelita. Episode ends with William and Ulrich slowly respecting each other but keeping their rivalry with Lyoko and William backing off on Yumi.

- New Episode #4: Dispute. This episode takes place after There is an Odd Number and focuses on William and Yumi’s relationship as they both go to the school’s group counseling together to talk about their issues with each other. This would show how much time has passed since William’s been a Lyoko warrior as well as how Yumi’s distrust of William and William’s growing annoyance with Yumi is affecting the team. There are flashbacks to their known and unknown adventures on Lyoko since joining the team. This episode will end on Yumi pushing William away but later regrets it w/ a twist of the school counselor being controlled by X.A.N.A.

- New Episode 5: An Odd Situation. Taking place after the swapped episode, this episode focuses on William and Odd’s relationship. With William feeling lost due to Yumi’s distrust influencing him and the rest, Odd surprisingly comes to his aid being the only one that could relate to him the most. Seeing the opportunity, X.A.N.A. creates polymorphic clones of Jeremy, Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd to lure both Aelita and William into Lyoko and possess both. Ulrich and Yumi fend off the clones while the rest go to Lyoko. The episode ends on Odd and William bonding while Yumi looks at them from a distance conflicted.

- Final Episode: Final Round. It’ll have the same events, except William is getting use to being a lyoko warrior, William is depressed due to Yumi’s concerns, and Odd has a conversation with William and Ulrich during the skate tournament that pushes William’s reckless behavior forward. Xana possessing William happens differently, & Odd & Yumi feels more responsible for William’s turn.

4. Since Odd has the least interactions with William and Yumi has been skeptical of William, Odd and Yumi have the arc of getting William back the most. Plus, I would introduce another new character (Eva Skinner) in this 5 episode arc that’ll be a Lyoko Warrior in Season 4.

5. The other original episodes after the swap would change to include William and the growing dynamics, while upping the episodic stakes.

6. The other episodes of the season would have William present or mentioned.

Lmk what you think of this!

*Sam:* Sam didn't tell Odd what was going on and the others needed him.

*Aelita:* She didn't get to William on time even though she knows that place very well than William does and she's so slow like always.

*William:* He didn't listen to Aelita and didn't follow her lead. She knows better than and has been fighting Xana for a very long time than he has and he was stupid of thinking that he can beat the Scyphozoa on his own.

Kind of a shame he didn't at least get a little more time as a good guy before this. I'd have liked to at least see one or two successful missions before he got nabbed.

I like the little details on anyone xanafied. In a close shot scene, you can hear heartbeats.

Shame we only got to see William's regular white lyoko form for one episode. I'd complain about why he looks like his Xana form in Evolution, but frankly I don't consider that canon anyway.

I hated that it took them the entire last season to bring him back. Seriously you still could have done the evil William thing by having a clone of him. Point is we should have gotten to more of the guy
