Red death isn´t angry at the fact that the Monarch was trying to kill him. He was pissed at the fact that he would dare do it while they were off the clock

I get a strong feeling Mr. Red Death knew exactly what Monarch was about to do.

The fact red death knows and respects the monarchs work is literally one of the most heartwarming things in this show

Red Death is a man who understands that work life balance is important and while these other villains fully commit to being evil, Red Death tries to keep a level head and stay realistic about why he's there...because if he didn't then he'd just start killing and killing and killing and killing...

Red Death has instantly become one of my faves, he can a calm caring father on one end and on the other, scare the living daylights out of me when he brings out his dark side

Not only is he threatening/berating him for trying to kill him "off hours", but he's also kinda warning him to stop obsessing over arching Venture.

After several re-watches it finally hit me why The Red Death is level 10.

It's not the flying horse. It's not the lighsaber scythe. It's not his canny cadaver-making skills or sheer dedication to making people into corpses. It's the mind.

Red Death's been in the game for so long he's now playing 5-d chess like it's Snakes and Ladders with a loaded dice.

First of all, he perfectly switches between completely non-threatening suburban dad and a murder-fueled monster. Like, to the point you start to think which one is the persona, the villain or the father.

Second of all, he already knew Monarch might be Blue Morpho and that he might be coming for him, but didn't make a move even when Malcolm tried to pull a gun on him! He didn't see him reach for it, so he couldn't prove anything. But as soon as M-dog even mentioned his family he barged right into his secret lair, which he knew was there and tried to stop Malcolm. You'd think he would kill him, right? Nope! He gave him a pep-talk instead because he KNEW his wife is the closest thing Ths Guild has to a Sovereign now with proficiency in martial arts AND a pHd to boot.

He used this to bond better with Sheila by saving The Monarch's life and ended up a full-time member of the council .

And as a finishing touch he put himself in charge of delivering the hush-money to the Peril Partnership to make them back of, which he (I presume) pocketed and instead opted to cold-bloodedly murder one of their men by tying him to a train track, effectively scaring The Partnership into backing off instead.

Now he has a cushy job, a pension and a college fund for his adorable daughter. Fuckin' A.

Red Death, so evil he can find shadow in the sunlight.

I think what's really cool about Red Death is that he does an excellent job of representing two very different things. He's is a perfect representation of a lot of serial killers and mafia members. They're able to keep up a veneer of a happy normal life, just coming across as a charming ordinary guy even to people that see them every day... while at the same time doing all sorts of horrible shit.

Yet at the same time, he's pretty much the ideal for anyone in a job with a lot of responsibility. When you're put in charge of people, you sometimes have to be a hardass even if you're a naturally laid-back person. It's important to learn how to separate your Work Self from your Home Self.

I love how this guy starts all congenial, like he's just a man talking about work...and then his voice deepens just a little, like he's slipping. The sheer presence of his controlled madness begins to show as shadow falls and eyes begin to glow. Then just a little deeper, and the growl. He feels it, that edge he teeters on. The voice acting and the visual on this was on point.

"Which one is yours?"
"Lila! The little ragamuffin in the rain boots."
Lila: [is a red skeleton]

Good on the Monarch for not presuming, I suppose.

I would pay good money for Clancy Brown to read Paddington Bear to me. And I'm 20.

I love how he gave Monarch an out. You know he knew about that gun and could have started his own butterfly collection if he'd wanted to right there and then.

When he says "we're not at the office right now you see" he is staggeringly intimidating

What's so brilliant about Red Death is that even though he is one of the "big players", respected by both protagonist and antagonists alike, he is very humble, and enjoys the work of up and coming villains. Even though the Monarch has fallen on hard times, Red Death has followed his career, even compliments the him on some of his more elaborate arches. It's like he knows what it's like to hate a person with every fibre of your being, and loves to watch other villains. He is leagues beyond anything the Monarch could pull off, but it's wonderful that he follows the work of other Guild members, even finds himself enjoying it somewhat.

Red death is by far one of the coolest villan i have ever seen...seriously he can make you crap your pant with his stare and words alone and at the same time you can't help but held huge respect for the

Have to give props to Monarch. He's such a great villain to deserve so much respect from Red Death to be allowed to live with a warning when he tried to kill him.
