His acting skills, the charismatic characters he plays, the halo effect of being a famous/rich actor, his deep voice and height are what makes him appealing. Remove the success and fame, he'd just be a regular guy. My brother has friends who are equally as tall or taller than Benedict, deep voices, nice skin, decent looking faces, but they don't have women falling over themselves to date them.
