I've studied gambling as an academic subject. My son studied gambling at the University of Nevada. I took his books after each semester and learned... and learned ... and learned. I read nearly every book available toon the phenomenon of why people think gambling is fun.
My conclusion after two years of study?
That all gambling is addictive and ultimately leads to broken families. Lost inheritances... destroyed lives...
Slots-table games-poker-baccarat- ALL shoot serotonin and dopamine in large doses into vulnerable individuals who destroy their lives over it.
But but but "I know people who win". You bet! They spend $10, 000 to win $3, 000. That's the truth of the matter.

Poker is the dumbest activity on earth. The more you study it the less fun it becomes. Guess why.
