Famagogo-The Journey North, Backpacking Knivskjellodden, Norway

Famagogo drives their Revel Van all over Europe. Here is their quest to find the actual furthest north point of the European mainland. After driving to Nordkapp it was clear that to reach the actual Northernmost point of Knivskjellodden they would need to go on a backpacking trip to get there.

Just starting the video and instantly I recognized the parking area. We had driven that day from Hammerfest up to Nordkapp and the gate to the tourist area was open. We managed (in a rented 2WD European camper) to get out there, of course it was closed (mind you this was the second week of December). We setup in their parking area for the night and went wandering out towards the globe when the plow driver approached... He informed us it was not safe to remain there overnight and he'd have to escort is out, a brief discussion ensued and he agreed he'd escort us on his last visit for the evening as there was no immediate weather threat. So we spent the next hour (maybe two) talking any number of photos around the globe, and general area before departing with the plow. Upon reaching the gate he said he'd show us a safe place to park overnight and led us to this very spot. The night was windy to say the least and the van ended up with the better part of an inch or more of ice on one whole side, but it was great. We managed to be first in line in the morning to make it out to the point again and eventually worked out way south back down through Finland.
What a phenomenal trip, such amazing memories. Maybe someday we'll take the kids again during the summer and they might remember it this time ;)

You had to be there almost the same day as I- at 1'07 you can see just the corner of my signing- I was number 300 in the book- I took pic so I remember :) :)
