The Redcat Gen 8 V2 is without question a tremendous value in trail scale crawling. In this video it receives a boost in performance via the tried and true HW 1080 Quicrun ESC. In a future video I will go in depth regarding the parameters and programming of the esc. Today we will walk through swapping out the factory supplied HobbyWing 1040 (not a bad esc itself) for the 1080, then demonstrate how adjusting the PWM effects the harmonic whine found in most electric crawlers.

I've had my Gen8 v2 for a about 6 weeks now and the 1080 esc was the first upgrade I added and it's deff worth the money. It helps so much with all the adjustments you can really set it up for the way and where you drive..

Sub'd and looking forward to more Gen8 V2 videos. I just ordered the 1080 for my V2. I find the stock motor to be more than good enough, just needs some control and the 1080 should do the job. Thanks for posting the videos on the V2.

Did you use the old conector from the other speed controller to connect them with the ones in the motor cause this cables are bigger

Looks like a nice upgrade. Can the radio that comes with the Gen8 V2 work with the HobbyWing 1080 ESC. Enjoying your videos.
