Drone Fail: First time Flight Crash destroying DJI Phantom 2 with GoPro

Grant Cregan's dream was to get a drone. Well we got one for. We were so excited. This is how the first flight went. FML

What did you break apart from props? Wasnt too bad of a crash. Could be an easy cheap fix

serious question. WHAT were you doing with the controls? ie why in the world did you put the sticks in the corners like that? set throttle to hold altitude then IGNORE throttle except to adjust minutely now and then and learn to work the right stick. once you have the right stick down pat then start messing with the left stick (yaw and vertical thrust)

don't even try to yaw just turn your entire body so you are always "facing" the same way as the drone until you get the control orientation changes down in your head.

I feel so bad for the guy who was so excited for the drone. He probably put a lot of hard work in to getting money for it and then just like that it breaks.

Buy a replacement shell and new props. Take all the electronics from one shell and swap them over to the new one. It costs about $70. Took me an hour and a half to do it and it flew fine. Do not waste your money on a new drone.

My drone got stuck in a 3 but it got done safe

my first flight with my dji was a crash too 0.o i think its supposed to be that way. however mine landet from 30 m onto grass. it lost a rotor which landed in the next garden like 50 m away. otherwise nothing bad happend. screwed it back on and it worked. no crashed since then. i feel bad for you guys :(
