Fluid Mechanics Lesson Series - Lesson 12F: Superposition in Potential Flow.

In this 13.5-minute video, Professor Cimbala explains why you can superpose (that is, add or subtract) individual potential flow solutions and get a result that is guaranteed to also be a potential flow solution. This process of superposition can be performed with either the velocity potential function or with the stream function. He then defines several "building block" flows (uniform stream, line source, line vortex, and doublet) and shows an example of superposition.

This video incorporates material from Section 10-5 of the Fluid Mechanics textbook by Cengel and Cimbala, Edition 4.
