Comfort fatigue happens when you build a life that looks good but feels empty. Stillness isn't the problem; lack of soul is.

I'm moving home with my parents for 6-8 months at age 32 because I have no idea what I want for myself. I'm seeing it as a gift that we get to decide how to reinvent ourselves and discover new cool things about ourselves!

4:45 this reminds me of the saying, "wherever you go, there you are." Sometimes the individual is the problem, not the setting.

There is a quote from an Alanis Morissette song I love and has become my mantra for every year: “you will learn to lose everything, we are temporary arrangements” (no pressure over cappuccino).
It just gives me a sense of peace knowing that we are always changing, even at the molecular level. Even if life feels like is not moving, we are constantly changing and learning.

I don't have to be perfect, just consistent.

It's easy to underestimate the power of small actions, but over time, they stack up. Reminding yourself that you're building something, step by step helps take the pressure off and keeps you going.
I love the direction your videos are going😊

My father used to say to me... don't blink... it goes THAT fast! I can attest to that... I'm turning 62 this July, I can remember being your age like it was yesterday... Enjoy your youth! Don't over think it too much...

Don't be afraid to change; be afraid of staying stuck. If you're lucky, you'll reinvent yourself many times, and every iteration will serve a purpose and help you level up in life. I'm looking forward to see where your journey takes you.

I'm 35 and finally following my YouTube dreams but also quit the career I had for 10 years...I'm only surviving cause of my husband and the grace of God. I don't know what I am doing.
I looked into the Artist way and I love what it requires! Some of which I already do but other things on the list...I could definitely benefit from doing.
Thanks for sharing with us your journey. It's encouraging. I think you're doing well, Alexis. :)

I feel like a big change would be to do things even if you are not in the mood to do it, having discipline is everything and makes you trust in yourself a lot more.

Girl, my reinventing is insane. From when I turned 18 I have had my life in Thailand and Vietnam where I live streamed my life, then my party life, then my life of complete solitude, then my life backpacking Asia for a year, then now my life in the countryside of Japan.

Love this new content, I think everyone feels this way. I’m 41, and currently in a situation where I feel stuck and lost and completely overwhelmed. Then I watched this, and I realized I don’t have to figure it all out, I just have to wake up tomorrow and do small steps to get where I need to be. Thank you for this!

Great Vlog Alexis! I’m 66 now and seem to be having to work on myself now more than my 20’s. I truly believe, it’s never a bad time to better oneself. Good luck this week! Love your fur babies!

Part of why I love your videos is that they remind me of life in my 20s, and it is such a joy (and frankly, a privilege) to witness you navigating through them. The times have changed, but so much of the journey remains the same. I swear your 20s are meant to be the era of reinvention and self-discovery, and I say, embrace it. I reinvented myself so many times during that decade that I lost count, and didn't decide to seriously pursue my writing career until my mid-thirties - the biggest, scariest, riskiest decision I ever made, because to do it, I had to quit my stable, well-paying engineering job. But here's the thing: it was the right decision. I hit the NYT Bestseller list at 40 and am honestly living my dream life right now. The point being, you have so much time ahead of you to decide who you are and what you want to do - now really is the time to follow your passions wherever they lead you. Also, The Artist's Way is SUCH a good book, and practice. I routinely re-read it whenever I need to jump-start my motivation. And my first few journal entries always feel stilted and weirdly performative, but then I get into the rhythm again, and I treat it like a brain-dump to get all my anxieties and random thoughts out so I can face the day with a clearer mind ❤

Living life to its fullest does include doing things by/for yourself. Figuring things out about yourself, by yourself, is going to be an amazing journey. Love your channel, you're an inspiration at all, see ya next time.

Alexis, I’ve been watching your videos on and off for a while now and this video really really resonated! Follow the big urge, and stack up the small actions! It will shape up to a great journey❤

the good thing about you realizing that, for example, the apartment move isn't creating the change you thought it would, is that you can truly start to see and face the fact that it's not about the apartment.

So basically symptom vs cause. or in other words, "wherever you go, there you are."
