How To Catch Sheepshead On Fake Crabs (LIVE Video)

What do you do when conditions are crummy for fishing?

Do you try to stick to the plan and tough it out?

Or stay at home and clean the boat?

Luke and I were recently faced with this problem and had a big decision to make.

The tides were bad, weather was bleh, strike score was low, and to make matters worse, we were paying our video guy, Cody, to be with us.

We had to go fishing and instead of trying to stick to our previous plan, we made a new one: let's go fishing for sheepshead in the canals.

And to make it harder on ourselves, we weren't going to get live shrimp or fiddler crabs, but instead were only going to use fake crabs.

Up until recently, we never thought you could catch sheepshead on artificial lures but we've been testing these lures out and wow...

Hi guys, I live in Ga, but I visit my niece, in Clearwater Fla. every June. I can't wait to try your tips for catching sheepshead.

I LOVE catching sheepshead. This time of year early winter is incredible here in south Louisiana. The big 5 to 8 lb sheepshead come into the marsh and the fight is on. Nothing per pound pulls like a sheepshead. We fish the oyster beds with market bait and catch easily 20 a day. It is one of the best tasting fish out there. Why people treat them like trash fish is beyond me. I find a lot of anglers are missing out because they dont know how to clean them easily, cook them correctly and know there are many artificial baits you can catch them on. Come to south Louisiana and fight these big sheepshead. So large you cant open your hand wide enough to hold them and you will be hooked.

I have used Procure scent in many flavors for almost ten years. It is excellent for trout, reds, and Snook. When I ran charters a couple of years ago it was used on both soft and hard baits.
