That is a great analogy, as we grow in our NEW Life in the Lord, just as one might grow into XL or 2XL well SM or MD or even L no longer fits anymore. It is unbecoming. So we shouldn't be embarrassing ourselves or the Lord by doing sins we know that are not right. For James tells us, if you know to do right, and you ignore it, this too is sin on top of sin. We can never justify our way out of thinking something is right when we want to do wrong.

Tq pastor David. Yes, the real me is a new man. The old man must be put off. No procrastination. Amen.

This also reminds me of Jesus and the Pharisees concerned that his boys ate but didn't wash their hands in the prescribed ritual traditional ceremony they did. Jesus then told them, what the boys put in their tummies will come out later in excretion. That is not what defiles them. What defiles them, is what comes out of their mouth. Relevant to what Paul is also speaking of here.

there is no such thing as a little sin, for it has a snowball domino effect. A little poison or a lot, still kills you. Some quicker than others.
