It cost more than $21 to even have a doctor blink in your direction in this country

I've been using thinx since 2019 as a way to reduce waste. I've spent $245 over the past few years to build up enough to get me through my entire period with out having to do laundry. I try to be intentional when I buy things and I don't have a big income, so I saved up for two years to buy my first set. I remember specifically thinking these are expensive, but they're healthier for me than tampons which have plastics in them.
I don't even use nonstick pans because I was worried about PFAS. I'm honestly pissed off.
Thank you for covering this!

$21 as an “oopsie” for chemicals on your coochie is an insult. $10.50 is a slap in the face. These companies do not care about us, especially black women.

I just googled "Which menstrual underwear does not have PFAS?"
Wirecutter is highlighting Thinx as the #1 PFAS free underwear of 2023 🥴

We need to seriously do independent third party testing on all these brands… like with what happened with the sunscreen companies. All feminine hygien companies need to be under the microscope too

I switched to the "period" brand of period underwear specifically because they were found to not have PFS's after doing some research (which consumers should not have to do for a health product like this) and that brand is even way more affordable. It's annoying that Thix is the most accessible, when there are other better brands who actual care about women.

Whew! Thank God I never bought these. It’s really sad how huge of a target us women are for harm doings through products.

21 dollars not even gonna cover tax 🙃. I hate that they’re only even getting called out for a technicality and misinformation especially when the alleged harm is a person’s health.

I came so close to buying these as an alternative to my period spending once, I seem to have dodged a huge bullet

This country has set a historical precedent for poisoning its people through chemicals (see: Love Canal, NY) 😢

When I saw $21, I just left the site laughing. Spent almost $300 on Thinx during 2020 and early 2021. Settlement my butt. Thanks for this video; just went back and submitted to be excluded. I’ll be on the lookout for another lawsuit filed in 5, 10 years about actual harm caused.

So glad I was too broke to buy their underwear 😅. I feel bad for the women who did use them though. They may have issues down the line.

You have no idea how close I was to buying one of these when they came out. I bookmarked their page on my browser and wanted to save money for it because I was a college student at the time and was getting bombarded with the 'save the environment' tropes. 😅 Sometimes being broke is a blessing. Lord knows how many potentially harmful products I would have bought if I had enough money simply because they market it as 'pro-women' or 'cruelty free and environmentally friendly'.

It’s crazy because I have PCOS and I was using tampons, pads and THINX to help with bleeding. I’m so upset there were chemicals smh.

I worry down the line if people do have harm, that it may be extremely difficult to prove that harm from an individual product given how pervasive PFAS/PFOA are. I stopped using waterproof mascara because I was worried about it potentially directly touching my eyeballs!!! On top of that, it’s difficult to say that something is “safe” just because it’s below detectable levels, especially with chronic exposures. It’s also a large and complex set of chemicals, making it even more challenging to regulate.

Thank you for covering this. I’ve spent so much money on these and I was so disappointed when I heard the news.

I switched to period underwear 3 years ago and haven't had any spills (which used to happen sometimes with pads, mostly at night). They were great, especially for someone who can't wear tampons/menstrual cups. Other period panty companies also have the same issue like Knix. This sucks and now idk what to do for my period...

This is really upsetting! Ive been using them for years. It would cost more to pursue the settlement than receive their pennies. Thanks for covering! Wish we could pursue greater legal action. This is such a violation of our bodies.

Love how I was never even notified of the exposure especially since I started using them I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS, infertility issues, have had miscarriages. The fact that it could be connected makes me feel sick. Maybe it’s a coincidence.. maybe not.
