4 days ago, my husband and I had a terrible argument. Hurtful words were said and we were both hurt. He decided to shut himself off because of it and Joy and laughter was sucked out our home because of this. After watching this movie, I prayed and went to him humbly and told him I forgive him of all that was said and also asked him to forgive me. He also apologized and asked me to forgive him. We are still both hurt but we have taken the first step into shutting the door the enemy wanted to open into our lives. May God heal all broken hearts and mend all homes that has watched this movie. I want mount zion to shoot a film that addresses the hurt people go through after forgiving their partner who cheated. I know it will be difficult to forget, the trust issues and all. How does God work on us to forget and heal us completely from the heartache.

In as much as forgiveness is biblical and very necessary to the children of God, it is important to know that the healing process from the hurt takes time and should not be forced or rushed.

It should be genuine from the offended to the offender.

And the statement "I forgive you" doesn't mean automatic forgetting of the wrong and hurt, it means "I forgive you but I'll need time to be able to see past what has been done to me"

One last thing, the offended does not have to be called names like hard headed, unrepentant or unforgiving and many more names that come to mind.

You can't beat a child and teach them how to cry, especially if you beat that child more than once.

Forgiveness, I mean true forgiveness takes time and it should not be forced or coarced.

⁠Jesus didn’t take time and process our forgiveness, he forgave us while we were yet sinners.
When we go wrong we should repent as soon as we realised, when people hurt us we should forgive for own peace and freedom from the prison of Unforgiveness and bitterness.

But for me reconciliation and reuniting with people that hurt us is a very sensitive steps, one need to decided wisely.
