What does your voice sound like? Could you describe it to a stranger? Finding your voice takes time, experience not to mention a little introspection and in this video we walk through some of the steps. I hope you find them useful 👍

Wonderful honest interpretation of a VO journey. Thanks so much I lovee your videos. It's so easy to get frustrated in the beginning and want to give up before you even have given yourself a chance to grow and learn what you can do because you think it's not working. Nice to hear you remind us it's a journey that can pay off in the end if you stay with it.

I’m used to hearing myself now (that was a shock 😂) but I definitely need to push myself in terms of acting & characters. I’ve settled into things that don’t ‘light my fire’ and I’m glad you made this video, Gary, as it’s reminded me why I wanted to do VO in the first place. Thank you for this 😊😊

Thank you! This was very helpful. I especially appreciate the advice to not only make notes on what you like in the work of other voice-over actors, but also what you don't like. I often find that when I have a strong negative reaction to something (such as a whine or sing-song quality to the voice), it is also because it is one of my own undesirable traits. This will help me to be cognizant of and to confront those unintentional (yet unwanted) qualities while trying to voice multiple characters. I am reminded, here, that one can differentiate between characters while still being authentic with my voice! 😀💖
