The closest thing I remember seeing is when I once used chrome dev tools on Reddit a hidden HTML component said that they are hiring front end devs

As a software developer I can confirm that this is true. You often search on how to do something in programming and once in a while a survey pops up from Google asking you if you want to apply for a job. Never tried it though.
