How Long Could MrBeast REALLY Survive Being Buried Alive?

A few months ago, MrBeast tried to survive being buried alive for 50 hours. He had an air system that pumped in fresh oxygen, but it got us curious- how long could someone actually survive being buried underground before running out of oxygen? So we made our own coffin and sealed box to find the answer. What's more dangerous, running out of oxygen, or being poisoned by CO2? If you fill
a box with plants or water, can it replenish your CO2 with oxygen? Let's find out!

This is a super interesting video concept, and it’s really well executed — great job!

Plants release oxygen during the day in the presence of natural light through the process of photosynthesis. While at night, the plants uptake oxygen and release carbon dioxide, which is called respiration.

Mythbusters buried Jamie alive years ago. They figured two hours tops under optimal conditions with him lying there relaxed. When they started dropping dirt into the container that the coffin was in, the steel coffin started buckling, so they cut it off there.

Am i the only one that doesnt really like that they are saying "T-core" now instead of "T-K-O-R" like they used to.

My statement stands... Grace reminds me of a hyper chihuahua

the problem with plants that at night or darkness, the carbon dioxide to oxygen conversion reverses. and in a coffin, I think, in the darkness, you would have a seriously negative effect.

The problem with the plants is that they take up a lot of space and therefore technically making the “coffin” smaller, that’s probably why the CO2 levels were higher.

I'm claustrophobic, I'd probably get a heart attack before the air runs out.

Would you consider doing it again with you sleeping? Someone can keep an eye on your CO2 levels and open the door and wake you when it hits 20000ppm. I'm sure I'm not the only one curious about the time difference between awake and asleep.
