My youngest son bought a homestead here in Franklin Texas 4 years ago. There were cows on the land that another farmer was grazing there. So the ag exemption was already in place!!! He finally moved into the house that he and my daughter in law finished last August 2022. Through all of that time I helped him with the cat they had and the dog he got for the gophers that were trying to move in in 2023. In March of 2023 he moved me up to Franklin. In April 2033 my 100 year old mom died. My son and I and my oldest son went to her internment ceremony in Santa Fe NM. On May 16th 2023 my youngest son was killed in a car accident. In November 2023 my daughter (in law) killed herself out of grief. The puppy died after she got away from her sitter as I was acclimating the cat to my house.

I miss the homestead very much!!! Watching what you are doing on your homestead is soothing to me. Especially the chickens and birds. Yuka was raising chickens and collecting eggs.

Luckily the homestead was bought by a young couple that is really doing a beautiful job managing the property!!!
